My journey on the Path less traveled. Introverted survivor of childhood abuse using writing to “Bring on the thriving!” A little lopsided sometimes, stubborn, but smart enough to know it’s time to truly heal! 🙏🏻❤️
Sometimes I feel like I’m the last one to hear of things. So when I do find out about something of value, I really like to share.
Have you heard the term empath yet?
I’ve been blown away in the last couple of years finally realizing I am a huge one, and that I’m definitely not alone in this specific personality trait.
During this Thanksgiving week, I’m not going to focus on the American version of the first Thanksgiving meal. No, I’ve actually become too educated on the real history of the relationships between the Europeans and the Native Americans to even want to talk about that right now.
Instead, I want to keep it more personal. I’m currently reading an amazing book by Brene Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection. One of her quotes in here is really sticking out to me, and I want to share.
When going through any kind of emotional healing process, dealing with the self-doubts, the negative all around us, I’m going to try hard to keep this quote in mind.
We all crave Belonging, it’s in our DNA, our nature, a basic need for all of us. Wouldn’t it be an amazing world if we all found peace in imperfection? I know I’ve worn myself out trying to pretend, in so many ways, to be more than I really am.
So this week of traditional Thanksgiving here in the US, I’m thankful that with a lot of help, I’m finally starting to grow, and honestly be comfortable in my own imperfection. To be surrounded by others who are genuine, sincere, forgiving, and authentic is all I can ever hope for.
Happy Thanksgiving week everyone!

There aren’t a lot of rich poets, and only a handful of names that became well known to most everyone. But remembering that writing poetry is relaxing and calming for some of us is the gift in itself.
I’d love to know more about how some minds are just wired more towards the creative and others the logical. I definitely fall into the creative side. Life has forced a logical, survival way of thinking, but it seems like that’s finally circling back around.
To do something you love, just because,….what a nice feeling!

Things that finally start to sink in when you’re going through a healing process; it was a week of highs and lows, but I’m finally realizing that’s what a typical week is.
It’s all about finding the balance, and enjoying the days. (Actually doing the work).
Along with celebrating my birthday, this is such a beautiful time of year. So I guess what I’m saying is that October it’s definitely one of my favorite months!
This week I got in a little creativity, a lot of nature, and some good laughs from my favorite pet therapists. 🐾
