My journey on the Path less traveled. Introverted survivor of childhood abuse using writing to “Bring on the thriving!” A little lopsided sometimes, stubborn, but smart enough to know it’s time to truly heal! 🙏🏻❤️
It blows my mind how hard I’ve been on myself all these years. I know I’m not the only one out here that is so unnecessarily hard on myself.
No amount of Quotes will make all the pain disappear, but they really are helping to light my path towards a healthier life.
I want to share this one today. It makes the huge connection between our mental health and our physical bodies. It’s helping explain all the physical pain and anxious reactions over the years.
Today, I’m thankful there are a lot of us out here trying to heal from past hurts, and being vocal about it. A lot of the hurts were ones we had absolutely no control over.

Happy Tuesday! I’m feeling blessed to have experienced another amazing ACOA meeting last night. These conversations are priceless!
After briefly sorting through our individual family trees, and then talking through them, we ended up with a lot of KEY words in common. It was like a gigantic A’HA moment for pretty much all of us!
Thoughts in common included: not fitting into our dysfunctional families, always being the one asking “why?”, being the “weird” one – mind you, this is in families full of alcoholics and long term, generational dysfunction.
A closing note hit home so close when it was brought up that maybe we were actually SMARTER than others in our family, as in IQ not just functionally.
Ok, today I’m super thankful for finding a group that supports and shares so much of our true selves with each other. What a game changer!

It’s so refreshing to hear true stories from Generation Z Elite level athletes and how the state of their mental health really is now as young adults. These are the ones that have been pushed extra hard to be the best, all while having their hand held, and a lot of their paths chosen for them, not by them.
Naomi Osaka finding her voice, a quiet but piercingly genuine voice, Simone Biles taking a step back during the actual Olympics relating it to pain and pressure,….I’m finding this all so real and so overdue!
After finishing the NetFlix series telling some of Naomi’s story at the height of her tennis career, I definitely want to recommend it here. There aren’t fireworks and buzzers going off, but in her sometimes calm, sometimes shaky voice she shares what it really feels like to be one of the “best.”
Now that I know about it, I want to know more about the Osaka Foundation in Haiti. https://www.facebook.com/Osakafoundation.org/ It’s fascinating to see how her father’s love of sports, the mentor bond between herself and Kobe Bryant; and hearing her honestly describe how her cultural feelings, her personality, and the expectations of greatness really affect her mental health.
Sending out wishes and prayers for everyone out there struggling with unspoken mental health issues. It is very real, and can be completely debilitating. Short version of that,….anxiety sucks!
So today I’m thankful our upcoming young adults are opening up and making public statements about the importance of recognizing and addressing mental health publicly.
