Iâm not sure what got me thinking about this topic last week, it might have been the ongoing complaints about gas and food prices,âŚ(all while knowing what life horrors our brothers and sisters in Ukraine are going through).
So I sat down and let it really sink in. Why isnât this current US crisis bothering me like it is a lot of others?
Well, it hit me. After growing up with the mentality of stretching things, making it last, only getting one, no exceptions; Iâve learned so many valuable life lessons that I havenât really acknowledged before.
Examples
â˘Â Appreciating everything
â˘Â Ability to stretch supplies (food, gas, clothes, etc)
â˘Â Knowing a want vs. a need
â˘Â Valuing everything I do have
â˘Â Less complaining about âlife bumpsâ and more thankful for what I do have
â˘Â Easily finding alternatives, life flexibility
â˘Â Enjoying the simple things, free activities even!Â
â˘Â Knowing that relationships are more important than any âthingâ
â˘Â Very easily amused, very creative, resilient, empathic,âŚ
â˘Â Looking for the best in every version of what I have
â˘Â Knowing that âStuffâ is low on the priority life list
â˘Â Ability to sacrifice without even blinking
Today, Iâm extremely thankful for what I once thought was a bad thing. Yes, I was made fun of by peers for some ratty/uncool clothes. Yes, I had feelings of not fitting in.
But wow, I really canât complain!!
Now that Iâm reconnecting with my true healthy personality, Iâm able to see how those life events shaped me in so many good ways.
Live, Laugh, Love with everything youâve got while you still can! đ⨠Thank you so much for stopping by. I truly appreciate and value you all here.
