In my almost 50 years, I’ve heard quite a few odd and somewhat cold statements from others. If asked, I’d have to say one of the worst is, “I already have enough friends.”
I’ve heard this from different peers at least three times over the past ten years. This comment was made in group conversations. My reaction has always been the same, complete shock!
As someone who’s lived in numerous states over the years, I’ve come to value and love meeting new people. Some of these new friends have become so close to my heart, and now I can’t imagine if I’d never met them.
I’m hoping this statement doesn’t really ring true for most of us. Life is such a gift, and it’s not over until it’s over. Today I’m thankful, and hopeful, that we continue to make new friends, love our neighbors, and to share our life journey with those around us.
