Where does such a strong, intense desire to live come from; and not just to live, but to live fully, passionately, with happiness and meaning? It’s different for all of us, but deep down I honestly believe God plants this seed in all of us, some just get buried deep, or damaged more than others. It’s that plan he has for our lives, and more importantly, our gift that’s unique to us.

We are ALL given a gift to share, and after reading thousands of books, slowing my mind down with mediation and prayer, and med’s,….(let’s save that one for another time, required but not wanted),…..the Depression busters that were implemented started to work! The work is crazy hard but the clouds are actually starting to clear up. I’m starting to see some real reason and purpose as to why I’m still here.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m dealing with daily anxiety attacks and chronic pain that make me want to curl up and cry. So today, instead of focusing on the 9 out of 10 emotional and physical problems going on, I’m choosing to see the (1) that isn’t with me daily anymore, the depression.

During my devotions this morning, I prayed that my words would come from the right place in my heart, that they would be honest, sincere, and with the intent to share some amazing inspirational resources I’ve found over the past ten years.

TOP (3) Life changers for beating daily depression; Books that I can’t say enough good things about!!

1). Left to Tell, by Immaculee Ilibagiza, a survivor of the Rwandan Holocaust. The horrors of seeing her life completely ripped apart, and the grace and healing she’s gone through since. https://www.immaculee.com/products/left-to-tell-by-immaculee-signed

2). Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand, who also wrote the awesome SeaBiscuit true story. Unbroken is the true story of Louis Zamperini who survived POW camp in WWII, and many other events. https://m.barnesandnoble.com/w/unbroken-laura-hillenbrand/1100045446

3.) The top five regrets of the dying, by the amazingly inspirational Bronnie Ware. This true story follows her through her days as a hospice aide in private homes. LIFE changing words in this one! This book should be a “coming of age” requirement for everyone to read. She has amazing social platforms on Instagram and Facebook also. Her newsletter is full of eye popping colors and deep loving words. https://bronnieware.com/blog/regrets-of-the-dying/

I write all this knowing I’m not solving world hunger or bringing peace to all lands; but I’m hoping that you’ll check these resources out sometime soon. They’ve changed my life! Like I said, I’m not a medical expert, but I do know first hand what 30 years of depression feels like, all the highs and the lows of it. Now that I’m two years into my treatment and recovery journey I can clearly see what an impact these true stories had on my life.

Depression doesn’t live here anymore! Anxiety is punching now,….but I’m working on it.

Love and Peace! Thank you so much for stopping by. πŸ’œβœ¨
