There have been a lot of years now that I’ve questioned my safety overall. Most all of this insecurity comes from the crazy dysfunctional home I grew up in. The feeling of not knowing what might happen next.

Today, I’m thankful, that through a lot of hard work, my everyday life is starting to fall into a healthier perspective for me. Healthy boundaries are starting to develop.

It still blows my mind how much affect those first 20 years of life have on all the rest. And this is something I’ve learned in ACOA about our inner child, and how we have to learn to re-parent ourselves in a kind way.

I’ve never heard of Annie Johnson Flint, but I just saw one of her many poems this morning, and definitely want to share here. It looks like her work has been put into a book also. (Amazon link below).

When I question the how’s or why’s of my strong foundational faith/hope/love, I honestly have to go back to those somewhat extreme religious years as a kid. I really did learn the core about right and wrong, and also the middle ground that Jesus taught us to question and take into consideration, the nonjudgmental part.

The hope, the faith, it’s all in there, 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV) – However, as it is written:  “what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived, the things God has prepared for those who love him.”

Hope and Faith that there are good people out there still doing good things every day comes from believing it yourself. I guess I’m preaching to myself today. I needed an affirmation of how I’ve kept going and why I’m still working to stay on the positive side of life.
