Here it is, the beginning of February and we’re getting ready for what could be the biggest snow and ice storm to hit in quite a while.

After living in three different types of storm regions, I’m comfortable getting ready, and admittedly sometimes get a little excited to prep for storms.

Literal Storm Supplies

  • Batteries of all types
  • Water supply
  • Food for at least a week, and to be ready and ok with the possibly of potentially losing what’s in the refrigerator and freezer
  • Reading materials (a personal favorite)
  • A lantern (with battery backups)
  • Candles and lighters (or the old-fashioned matches) 😊
  • Weather appropriate specifics

Figurative Life Storm Supplies

When thinking about this winter storm, I’m also thinking about the “figuratively speaking political/religious/moral” storm that’s become stronger in the last few years.

I wouldn’t be educating myself and keeping my eyes open if I didn’t acknowledge and also prepare for the state of the US knowing what is likely to come in our next Presidential election. The US is so divided politically, and unfortunately religion and morality is right in the middle.

Today I’m praying for divine inspired guidance only, not the noise all around me. This guidance is to help keep my thoughts and heart on what is truly right, and not what is popular at the time.
