Mental Health Finally making it to the podium. πŸ†πŸ₯‡

It’s so refreshing to hear true stories from Generation Z Elite level athletes and how the state of their mental health really is now as young adults. These are the ones that have been pushed extra hard to be the best, all while having their hand held, and a lot of their paths chosen for them, not by them.

Naomi Osaka finding her voice, a quiet but piercingly genuine voice, Simone Biles taking a step back during the actual Olympics relating it to pain and pressure,….I’m finding this all so real and so overdue!


After finishing the NetFlix series telling some of Naomi’s story at the height of her tennis career, I definitely want to recommend it here. There aren’t fireworks and buzzers going off, but in her sometimes calm, sometimes shaky voice she shares what it really feels like to be one of the β€œbest.” 

Now that I know about it, I want to know more about the Osaka Foundation in Haiti. https://www.facebook.com/Osakafoundation.org/ It’s fascinating to see how her father’s love of sports, the mentor bond between herself and Kobe Bryant; and hearing her honestly describe how her cultural feelings, her personality, and the expectations of greatness really affect her mental health.
