I’m involved in a few animal therapy programs locally and nationally that continue to amaze me! A top favorite inspiration is The Herd Institute, founded and managed by a passionate, loving, and incredibly educated leader, Dr. Veronica Lac. Thanks to her permission, I’m excited to introduce her therapeutic horse program. After volunteering with her for a few years at a local stable she left me in amazement at what an enormous effect these strong and loving creatures have to offer us all.

So much I can say about this wonderful program, and that’s the future plan! We didn’t even get started talking about the therapy certification programs or the national hands on conferences and retreats! More to come,….

After experiencing life altering trauma and abuse first hand, everything changed, not my love of animals though; I’ve always had that with me. Memories of adopting every stray cat in the neighborhood and receiving their latest kill as a gift,… 😳 Well? Comical times when they’d start to bicker over who got the prime spot in front of our door. Cat Fight!

Thankfully I’ve been blessed to have some amazingly loving and strong people in my life who have shown me the healing that comes naturally through our animals, and nature overall. The relaxation and crazy fun our animals can bring to us is irreplaceable.

Definitely agree! I’ve had therapy pets my entire life but just didn’t really understand our strong connections. I work with horses and dogs mostly, but always have at least one cat too! 😊

  1. Animals have so much power to heal. They each have their own special gifts. Dogs give us fun and unconditional love. I remember the strength and energy I received from horses many years ago and the comfort of cats. Thank you for bringing this into our awareness and our gratitude.

Thank you so much for your thoughts here!! You’re so right! I guess I didn’t realize how naturally therapeutic they are until I started hearing organizations referring to them that way. I’ve just always known the peace and unconditional love, especially our puppers!! So nice to connect here! 💜✨
