It’s really not my job to educate others about learning how to work with those that are different from themselves.

But wow, it is mind blowing how arrogant some people are to think they are right, at all times, and there is no other way to communicate than to express in profound and loud ways.

These thoughts are being directed to the ones who think the term “constructive criticism” also means being allowed to use any tone of voice and actually shouting at another person, in front of a group of peers. And then not seeming to understand why the receiver might take this to heart, to show any embarrassment, or fear.

This scenario just happened to me recently within a new volunteer environment. I am astonished that one can try to justify this type of communication as “constructive”, in any form.

I live with a completely different mindset. In my communications, and maybe it is because I grew up with verbal abuse, I purposely make the effort to remain calm in all situations allowing grace for the given situation.

I’m not perfect in any sense of the word, so if I can’t remain calm, you’ll see me pause and return to the matter when I’ve sorted through it.

I don’t care how you choose to describe your personality: extrovert, introvert, leader, follower,…If you choose to steamroll and belittle those around you, please prepare yourself for the lose of respect from others.

And there it is, my introverted vent for the day.
