A few little baby steps, at about the pace of a typical turtle,…..

I’ve flipped the Survivor mode switch to off (at least trying to). It’s been on for almost 40 years now. With this journey towards breaking my generational curses (abuse, alcoholism, depression, anxiety,….too big of a dysfunctional list to put it all here) my mind, body, and soul finally hit rock bottom. Ready to rise though.

So let’s see about this “thriving thing.” Anxiety isn’t an easy one to shake. It’s had a pretty tight grip on me for a long time now. It really did used to work! It made sure I got everything needed done, in a timely and usually early manner, without asking for help or depending on anyone for anything. Not healthy at all.

Worn out now. Deep breath,….time to start journaling again. One of my friends at ACOA noted how she writes a gratitude journal every night. Kind of different than the usual morning version. She noted that by doing this it keeps her aware of her daily blessings! She’s actually looking for the grateful in her typical day so she can write about it that night.

Added to the top of my “to do” list! ✅
