The Cherokee Parable of the two Inners Wolves

With the goal of writing every day, knowing how helpful it can be, but when having a day of jumbled thoughts on very little sleep,…

These are the days when reading back through some of the most impactful quotes I’ve heard helps to keep my thoughts positive and still heading forward.

Two Wolves – A Cherokee Parable

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life…

“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

“One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt, and ego.

“The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

“This same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
“Which wolf will win?”

The old chief simply replied,
“The one you feed.”

  1. ChallEngEr – HELLO EVERYONE I am a teacher for 20 years now and also a very busy mom juggling mostly 70 % all the household activities.Quite a challenge ! I am really involve in our community and this adds to my busy schedule . But it clearly states my interest in people and in what they do . I love gardening , crafting , teaching outside the classroom and drama dance.

Oh, I will never forget this one! One of my colleagues at school once told a 6th grade this story to teach them about bad behavior and it worked!

    • IntrovertAwakenings – High functioning 40 something introvert, and happy to say I'm finally figuring my true self out. All those years of trying to be high energy, extroverted, and always a happy person,....well, it can wear you out when you're just not wired that way. So today I'm thankful and blessed to start seeing life without the expectation blinders on. It’s ok to be who you were really meant to be, once you start to figure that part out. ❤️ Perspectives, the introvert mirror, the sparkle within,...let’s get this connected "all feeling" journey started. ✨
