Yes, I used to almost fall asleep in all my school history classes. Wow, if I knew then what I know now! 🤦♀️
But I’m not going to beat myself up about it,…there are always multiple variables around us. It’s hard to tell what teaching style was being used, how engaging the class actually was? Looking back with kindness and understanding can be so much more revealing when it comes to truly understanding a given situation.
With so much rocking our world right now, politically, emotionally, personally; it’s no wonder we continue to hear of mental health issues on the rise. However, I’m starting to finally see what’s at the core of the life foundation I was gifted through my mom’s solid belief in God and her continuous quest to see everything through eyes of love, never questioning that there will always be good out there. I’ve found, with age, that a lot of times, we just have to search through all the noise and clutter to see it.
But it is so worth looking for!!! (I’m not there, but I’m writing this way to help myself keep reaching for it)!
And yes, most recently, here in the US it has been daunting to try to see the good on an everyday basis. But, I’m finding that returning to that state of mind I was taught as a child, and through historical lessons from others who lived through all kinds of world madness, there really is still a choice. A choice does exist to find peace and calm, regardless of our surroundings.
I believe, more than anything, the secret to true inner peace, calm, and the ability to be loving, regardless of what era we’re in, or what’s happening in our personal lives, rests deeply in our faith; and our curiosity in searching through history, finding out how those who came before us dealt with troubles.
Finally, I’m starting to understand that history can teach such valuable life lessons. Nothing we are going through today has never happened before, in one sense or another. Those who came before us have left clues and advise all around us, we just need to look for them.
Live, Laugh, Love with everything you’ve got, while you still can. 💜✨ Thank you for stopping by. I truly appreciate and value you all.
