Healthy Awakening ~ Mean Girls still exist

To say learning to deal with mean girls has been an easy road in life, well, that would be a bold face lie.

Yes, my perspective of healthy relationships was messed up around age ten. But, thankfully I can also say the work I’ve been putting in these last five years towards relearning “healthy” has been extremely enlightening.

It would be nice, at almost age fifty, to say there were no more Mean Girls to deal with, but sadly they just keep on popping up. My personal goal is to respond in a healthy way and leave these situations when there just is not a realistic compromise.

It would be so interesting to be inside someone’s head, to try to understand why women continue to go “toe to toe” in an alpha struggle, when it is completely unnecessary, unneeded, even proving to be disruptive and harmful to the given situation.

No names needed here; I have a feeling we all know this continues to be a life issue in all our circles. Today, I am hoping that during my healing I can forgive calmly and refuse to allow the toxic energy into my thoughts. Huge work in progress here!

    • IntrovertAwakenings – High functioning 40 something introvert, and happy to say I'm finally figuring my true self out. All those years of trying to be high energy, extroverted, and always a happy person,....well, it can wear you out when you're just not wired that way. So today I'm thankful and blessed to start seeing life without the expectation blinders on. It’s ok to be who you were really meant to be, once you start to figure that part out. ❤️ Perspectives, the introvert mirror, the sparkle within,...let’s get this connected "all feeling" journey started. ✨

So very true!!! Thank you for this beautiful reminder. I’ve learned through a few years of counseling that I’m a little more sensitive than others. So when I’m dealing with a true mean spirit, I really do have to rally myself to make sure I still speak up in a healthy way.

  1. Good for you! My strategy would be to no longer include that person in my life. But I know sometimes circumstances don’t allow for that. Instead, I would clam up and say what I really wanted to say to that person in my head–or to my husband–neither of which is very healthy, LOL! Hope you have a GREAT day!!
